Are you referring to the rebound clamp? I've attached a couple photos of the front mount assembly. One is the diagram from the master parts catalog, and the other is on a straight eight car I have, but it's the same mount setup.
If the front mount is assembled correctly, I'd loosen the bolts, jack the engine up a little bit and and see if it centers itself, then set it back down and re-torque the bolts.
If this ends up not being the issue, we can explore some other possibilities.
